In the first episode of Amazon Talks, we welcome Carlos Manuel Baigorri, current President of the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL), for a conversation on connectivity, infrastructure, and the challenges facing telecommunications in the Amazon.
Holding a degree in Economics from the University of Brasília (UnB), along with a Master’s and Ph.D. in Economics from the Catholic University of Brasília (UCB), Baigorri has been working in the telecommunications sector since 2006. He built a solid career within ANATEL, where he has served as President since April 2022.
In this chat, we discuss the impact of connectivity on the sustainable development of the Amazon region, digital inclusion, infrastructure expansion, and the strategic role of technology in reducing inequalities and bringing communities together.
